Driving Film & Media Between India and California
Every year, India produces over 3,000 films — the largest output in the world. Many are shot internationally at tax-incentivized locations. GBE plays a key role in attracting Indian productions to California, strengthening the State’s Film Tax Credit Program and generating new jobs and revenues.

Big stakes
Golden Bird Entertainment brings Indian Film Shoots to the State of California to help push the State’s Film Tax Credit Program and thus increase Revenues and Jobs for California.
India produces over 3000 movies per year, making it the largest by number in the world, of those, a majority are shot at Tax Incentive International Locations and many of them are being attracted into California by Golden Bird Entertainment.
We have launched two large PPP Film City Projects in India including Mumbai Media City (MMC) spread over 1700 acres and one smaller Studio Complex in California.
MMC will be India's Largest and first-of-its-kind Hollywood-benchmarked End-to-end Studio, Broadcast, Data Center, Media School, Studio Tourism, Arena, Film Museum and Entertainment Complex right in the Heart of Mumbai city.

Mohinder Walia
Founder, Chairman & Managing Director
Based between Los Angeles and Mumbai, Mohinder Walia brings over three decades of leadership and expertise across media and technology in both the U.S. and India.
He has held top executive roles, including CEO/Managing Director of Fox Studios India/LA, and head of the U.S. Media, Government & Smart Cities Consulting Practice for Tech Mahindra, a $6.5 billion global enterprise. In these roles, Mohinder has helped Hollywood studios, U.S. TV networks, OTT platforms, and gaming & eSports companies expand their presence across the U.S. and India, using innovative business models and multiple revenue streams.
His expertise covers business & technology strategy, market expansion, capital raising, and M&A in both countries. As one of the rare executives deeply fluent in both U.S. and Indian media markets, Mohinder bridges expectations seamlessly — balancing the corporate outlook of American companies with the on-the-ground realities and culture of Indian media business. This unique perspective fuels his out-of-the-box approach to driving growth for GBE’s clients.
A Global Network of Influence
Beyond his executive roles, Mohinder has built C-level relationships with governments, media, and tech leaders worldwide, creating a powerful ecosystem of clients and partners for GBE.
He has launched and successfully led international business for Carat Media’s India operations — the world’s largest independent media agency — as well as Nimbus Communications Ltd., India’s leading sports management and broadcast company.
Since 2011, Mohinder has also served as a Judge of the prestigious International Emmy® Awards, further cementing his place in the global media community.

Mohinder holds an International MBA (IMBA) with Dean’s List Honors from the University of Southern California (USC), Marshall School of Business — one of the U.S.’s top 10 IMBA programs — and an Engineering Degree with Honors from VJTI, India’s premier engineering and technology institution.
Monica Madhok Walia
Co-founder & Chief Business Officer
Monica Madhok Walia is a dynamic, results-driven executive with over 27 years of experience in investor relations, client relations, education management, and business development.
She spent 17 years at Citibank in both the U.S. and India, where she built and nurtured long-term relationships with investors, clients, and C-level executives. Monica played a key role in enhancing educational experiences for Citibank’s clients and senior leadership, designing and delivering programs that brought lasting value across diverse audiences.
Her expertise spans strategic planning, team leadership, and program development, with a proven ability to drive organizational success through innovative solutions. Known for her ability to cultivate strong partnerships and maintain exceptional client satisfaction, Monica has also shaped executive learning environments, ensuring they are both impactful and inspiring.
Beyond the corporate world, Monica has spent a decade working with top educational institutions in the U.S. and India, where she developed and managed in-person and online executive management programs.
Education & Personal Interests
Monica holds an MBA in International Business from the University of Mumbai, graduating second in her class, as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Delhi and a Bachelor of Arts from Christ Church College, Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh).
Outside of work, Monica is passionate about yoga and meditation, which keep her grounded and energized.
